THE PROJECT
Soila is a short film created through the Film Clinic Bootcamp, bringing together emerging filmmakers to develop a story from concept to screen. For this project, I took on the role of Trailer Editor, responsible for transforming the film’s footage into a compelling promotional piece that captures the essence of the story without revealing too much.
My approach to the trailer focused on visual storytelling, pacing, emotional build-up, and atmosphere. I carefully selected and arranged key moments from the film to establish the characters, setting, and underlying conflict while maintaining a sense of mystery. The edit was structured to gradually increase tension and engagement, allowing each shot to contribute to the overall narrative and emotional progression.
I also worked with sound, music, transitions, and timing to strengthen the trailer's cinematic impact. Rather than simply presenting highlights from the film, the goal was to create an experience that gives the audience a glimpse into Soila's world while leaving them curious about what happens next.
The final trailer was designed to capture attention, communicate the film's tone, and generate anticipation for the premiere, serving as both a creative introduction to the film and a promotional tool for its release.
